A Day in Tirana

A six-person short term mission team is here from Canada for two weeks. We went on a walk Thursday night, down to the sea, and got ice cream at a cafe. Mine was kafe flavored (coffee). The taste of Albanian ice cream is different, but good.

Friday morning we drove to Tirana to eat and shop with the team. An example of the crowded streets! The old "castle" where we ate lunchThe grounds around the restaurant were beautiful, with kindergartens taking walks and people picnicking and just walking in the clean air. There is so much diesel smoke in the streets, it was wonderful to be able to breathe deeply here.We ate on a veranda... the building's architecture was very ItalianI splurged and tried lamb for the first time. By splurged I mean $10. I imagine lamb would be more expensive in the States.

  4. Ha ha, there is a road in our town that looks like that too. It is worse because the street is on a hill, and you cannot tell if there is a car coming over on the other side!
